I try to understand how the problem affects them, and then recommend a solution that’s not only medically appropriate but one that also fits their lifestyle. Treatment is never a one-size-fits-all solution.
I realize it’s important for people to have direct agency and control in the way they’re treated. My patients and I work together as a team toward their well-being.”
A native of Denver, Colorado, Dr. Nuss knew he wanted to be a physician at a very young age. After earning his medical degree at Wake Forest University, he completed both his internship in surgery and residency in urology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. When he knew he would specialize in treating conditions involving reconstructive urology, he completed a fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago. Dr Nuss is Board Certified by the American Board of Urology.
Dr. Nuss’ love for medicine is still fueled by the opportunity to use his emotional, physical, and intellectual abilities to help others heal. “My goal is always to fix a problem instead of simply putting a band-aid on it,” he says.
When he isn’t caring for patients, Dr. Nuss enjoys cooking and grilling outdoors with his wife, Caroline, at their home in Dallas. They have a golden retriever named Noah, and serve together in marriage ministry at their church. He also trains for triathlons and has competed in Ironman 70.3 triathlons and the Chicago, Dallas and Boston Marathons.
